AgriSETA was established as the Sector Education and Training Authority for the economic sub-sectors that include primary and secondary agriculture through the Skills Development Act of 1998.

 

2019 ACADEMIC YEAR & 2019/2020 FINANCIAL YEAR

GRADUATE PLACEMENT, SKILLS PROGRAMMES 18.1 & 18.2, COMMODITY ORGANISATIONS, ADULT EDUCATION AND TRAINING (AET) AND SUPPOR TO RURAL STRUCTURES WINDOW PERIOD

PLEASE NOTE

Learnerships 18.1 and 18.2, Bursaries, Internship and Artisan Development applications are excluded in this funding window period.

 

AgriSETA invites all AgriSETA levy paying employers, Commodity Organizations, NGO’s, CBO’s, Community Based Cooperatives and small BEE firms to forward applications for Skills Programmes 18.1 & 18.2, AET, Graduate Placement, Commodity Organizations and Support to Rural Structures.

 

PLEASE NOTE – DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED BY AgriSETA IN THE PAST, STAKEHOLDERS ARE ADVISED TO LIMIT APPLICATIONS TO ABSOLUTE SCARCE AND CRITICAL SKILLS AS PER NSDS III

A VALID SARS TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE SHOULD ACCOMPANY CONTRACTS DURING SUBMMISSION OF DOCUMENTS. NO CONTRACT SHALL BE ACCEPTED/CAPTURED IN THE AgriSETA SYSTEM UNLESS A VALID TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE IS PROVIDED.

FAILURE TO SUBMIT A VALID TAX CLEARANCE CETIFICATE SHALL JEOPARDISE YOUR APPROVAL AND FUNDS SHALL BE REALLOCATED.


GUIDELINES

 

*      Only attached application form will be accepted: www.agriseta.co.za

 

*      Applications are open from Friday 01 November 2018 to Thursday 31 January 2019. 

 

*      Applicants will be informed of the outcomes from April 2019; enquiries can only be made from 15 April 2019.

 

*      Only properly completed and signed application forms shall be considered for evaluation.

 

*      Learners should be supported by Employers in the agricultural sector in completing the (Employer section) of the application form. 

 

 

*      AgriSETA has introduced On-line application system, please visit AgriSETA website, Home Page, INDICIUM (Red) – SDF/USER LOGON, Online Discretionary Grant Application. Stakeholders are encouraged to use an improved On-line application system as it encourage paperless environment.  

 

*      Upload all signed documents when using the Online application system.

 

*      No late application will be considered.


Please note the following

 

*        GRADUATE PLACEMENT:

 

·        Please attach all required documentation with your application (not CV’s).

·        During application, proof of academic records/certificates, certified ID copy is required.

·        Once approval is granted, please provide proof of contract between the learner and the employer (during contracting).

 

*       SKILLS PROGRAMMES Emphasis shall be given to striclty S&CSs.

 

*       ALL PROGRAMMES

*    Ensure that once approval has been granted, contracts and all supporting

     documents reaches AgriSETA before the end of June 2019.

*    Due to scarcity of funds, if the previous learning programme has not resumed

      please DO NOT apply.


PRIORITY AREAS

 

The allocation of funds will be aligned to the AgriSETA strategic objectives with emphasis on the Sector Scarce and Critical Skills. Some of the training interventions that preference will be given to are amongst others, but not limited to, the following occupations/interventions:    

 

·    Farm Manager NQF 4-5

·    Forklift Driver NQF 2 (US- 9599 - 3 Credits) and (US- 244365 – 3 Credits)

 FUNDING CATEGORIES & RATES

SKILLS PROGRAMMES 18.1 & 18.2

 

·      The value of the Grant per learner for:

o   Employed and Unemployed learners   R192.00

o   Applications should not exceed a maximum of 24 credits and 25 learners.

o   There is no allowance on Skills Programmes.

 

ADULT EDUCATION AND TRAINING (AET)

 

o    The value of the grant per learner for both Numeracy and Literacy is R4 500.00.

o    UMALUSI accredited Service Providers shall conduct placement assessment THROUGH IEB.

 

GRADUATE PLACEMENT

 

o    The value of the grant is R47 700.00 (maximum of 12 months) for unemployed learners who have completed their studies in a defined scarce skills in the agricultural sector and who needs exposure to improve their employement opportunities.

 

SUPPORT TO RURAL STRUCTURES

 

o   There is no separate application form for Support to Rural Structures (Mentorship  and Non Credit Bearing Programmes). Stakeholders should submit proposals to AgriSETA outlining the details of the projct e.g. what will be achieved and how it will be done, how many Co-operatives will be supported and how many learners will benefit as well as cost breakdown. Due to high volume of applicationsreceived in the past, special projct application are limited to R400 000.00 per proposal.

 

COMMODITY ORGANISATIONS

 

o   Commodity Organisations sving the agricultural sector are invited to submit applications. There is no specific form for Commodity Organisations.

o   The training interventions applied for, may include funding categories aleady mentioned in which instance the apllicable grant values will apply.

o   The total value of applications per organisation should preferably not exceed R500 000.00.

o   Organisations with previous projects that have not started, should NOT apply.

o  Applications is viewed as coming from the employer NOT necessarly from the Service Provider.

o  Tax Clearance Certificate and the Tax Compliance Status Pin.

o  Application forms are available on the AgriSETA website (www.agriseta.co.za)   and obtainable by clicking on the Learning Programmes header.

o   Past experience has  shown that the total value of applications    each year, exceeds the available discretionary funds by far. Stakeholders are therefore encouraged to focus on actual needs when preparing applications. AgriSETA reserves the right to lower the limit depending on the availability of funds.

o   All discretionary grants are VAT zero rated.

o   Applications should reach AgriSETA not later than Thursday 31 January 2019, 16h30 and online application not later 24h00 midnight. No late applications will be considered
