MANDATORY GRANTS WSP's  & ATR's
WHAT IS MANDATORY GRANTS
Mandatory Grants are a fix percentage (40% of levies paid to the Receiver of revenue) that can be claimed by an employer by submitting the Annual Training Report for the previous year training completed combined with a Workplace Skills Plan for planning of training for the next scheme year.

If an application is approved, the employer will receive 40% of the total levies paid to SARS by the employer for a scheme year.
WHO CAN CLAIM/APPLY FOR A MANDATORY GRANT
All registered organizations, paying the Skills Development levies to SARS on a monthly basis.

NOTE: An employer is exempted from paying Skills Development levy if the total leviable amount of all its employees over the next 12 months are less than R500 000.00. Employers who are exempted from paying SDL are also exempted from submitting an Annual Training Report or Workplace skills plan. WHEN TO CLAIM/APPLY FOR A MANDATORY GRANT
An Annual Training Report & Workplace Skills Plan may only be submitted to AgriSETA, once per scheme year by the due date of 30 June each year.
HOW TO CLAIM/APPLY FOR A MANDATORY GRANT
You need to submit a combined ATR (Annual Training Report). This is a report on actual training completed during the previous year, e.g. 2011/2011 and a WSP (Workplace Skills Plan) This is a plan of training to be completed in the new year, e.g. 2011/2012. Sample of proof of training completed in the form of copies of invoices, certificates and attendance registers need to accompany the ATR.
HOW ARE MANDATORY GRANTS DISBURSED
Mandatory Grants are being disbursed on a quarterly basis.

The *purposed dates for 2011 are:

1st Grant Payment  End of September 2011 
2nd Grant Payment  Middle of December 2011
3rd Grant Payment  End of March 2012 
4th Grant Payment  End of June 2012
